Save the numbers for each material and thickness once. The one you mark as “in use” is applied to every file you generate or open in the previewer. Everything stays on this computer.

How to find your kerf

  1. Cut a simple 50 mm square out of the material you're going to use.
  2. Measure the finished square across the middle with a digital calliper.
  3. Subtract the measurement from 50. If it comes out at 49.8 mm, your kerf is 0.2 mm. Enter that number below.
  4. Do this once for every material and thickness he cuts regularly.

Lead-in is the short run-up line where the beam pierces before it reaches the shape, so the pierce mark doesn't land on the finished edge. Around 3 mm suits thin sheet.
